Our Board of Directors brings a breadth of expertise and dedication to providing access to responsible financial services.
Zar Wardak is FINCA Impact Finance’s Vice President & Regional Director for the Middle East & South Asia (MESA) region, where she leads the network’s operations in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Jordan. Based in Kabul, she oversees a loan portfolio of more than $170 million, providing more than 660,000 clients with loans, savings products, insurance and payments services.
Under Zar’s leadership, FINCA’s operations in the MESA region have expanded to cover two full-service microfinance institutions and one bank, each of which now has more than 25,000 clients. FINCA Impact Finance has also become a catalyst for women’s economic empowerment in the MESA region—61% of FINCA Afghanistan clients are women; in Jordan, that number is 92%. Most recently, Zar helped introduce SimSim, an e-wallet now being used by over 100,000 previously unbanked or underbanked users in Pakistan. SimSim launched in 2016 and has contributed to financial inclusion in Pakistan while keeping FINCA at the forefront of Fintech innovation.
Prior to becoming Regional Director in 2012, Zar served as CEO of FINCA Afghanistan. Under her leadership, the company was able to achieve sustainability within three years. She implemented profitable microfinance solutions designed for local conditions—notably, FINCA Afghanistan was the first microfinance institution in the country to offer Islamic banking services. FINCA Afghanistan now serves more than 25,000 clients from 21 branches across the country, largely due to Zar’s successful stint as CEO.
Prior to joining FINCA, Zar worked as a financial services industry consultant in Afghanistan and served as Regional Sales Integration Director for Citibank in Texas before that. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Business from Southwestern College in Kansas and a Master of Science in Peace Operations from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
Zar also serves as Chairperson of the Afghanistan Microfinance Association and Chairperson of the Board for FINCA Impact Finance’s MESA subsidiaries as well as for Kosovo.
Volker Renner has over 20 years of senior executive experience in responsible finance in the Eurasia, Africa, Latin America and Asia regions. From 2004 to 2016 he served FINCA International as Vice President for Credit and Savings, Global COO, and Regional Director for FINCA Eurasia. Prior to joining FINCA, Volker held positions as CEO of ProCredit Bank (Ukraine) and advisor to banks in Russia and Ukraine. Since 2016, Volker has focused his work on governance and consulting roles, serving as board director and member of Audit, Risk, ALCO, Digital Financial Services, and Credit committees in financial institutions on three continents.
Safiye is a senior international banker with vast experience across many banking functions, geographies and client segments. Over the last 20 years at Citi she worked as a Senior Investment Banker both in Turkey and in London covering several FTSE 100 multinational corporates and underwriting complex financing transactions. She helped corporate clients to manage their investments and financing needs globally. She has been selected as “Best Banker’ by British American Tobacco.
As Regional Head for Citi’s Internal Audit and Risk Management Group, she was responsible from Europe Middle East and Africa consisting 52 countries. She managed a multi-cultural team which audited and rated Citi corporate credit portfolios across the region. Her expertise in credit risk management has been acknowledged with Senior Credit Officer (SCO) title.
In order to pursue her life-long ambition and commitment for women’s economic empowerment, Safiye joined Citi Microfinance (now known as Citi Inclusive Business) in 2009 as a Global Business Director which is a ‘for profit’ business segment of Citigroup. She has since worked to address issues of access to finance for micro entrepreneurs focusing on building scalable solutions and bringing the capabilities of Citi’s businesses to microfinance institutions, banks and corporate clients that work with unbanked and underserved low income communities. Last two years at Citi Microfinance, she has been working to develop value chain solutions to multinational firms while bridging the gap between large corporates, financial service providers, micro insurance companies and microfinance institutions.
Safiye was part of a team in Citi Microfinance that has developed a Citi-Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) microfinance partnership providing funding to 40 microfinance institutions with outreach to almost 1 million micro-entrepreneurs in 22 countries, approximately 91% of whom are women.
In 2014, she has been awarded ‘Champion for Women Award’ by Women in Banking and Finance UK Network (WIBF) in recognition for her contribution to women in the workplace and women economic empowerment globally. She acted as the Co-chair of Citi Women for two terms during her tenure at Citigroup.
She left Citigroup in October 2014 and now works independently as a Consultant in Banking, Financial inclusion and in microfinance industry and serves as an independent director on multiple boards.
She is a non-executive director at FINCA Microfinance Bank Pakistan since June 2017, FINCA Microfinance Bank Jordan since December 2018 and Board Member at British Chamber of Commerce Turkey since May 2016.
She also sits on the board of non-profit Foundation for the Support of Women’s Work (Kadin Emeğini Degerlendirme Vakfi-KEDV) and Maya Microfinance Institution which is the first microfinance institution in Turkey. She has recently joined Oxfam International Supervisory Board.
She has MSc degree in Banking and Finance from Nottingham University and BA in Economics from Boğazici University in Istanbul. She has dual nationality; British and Turkish and lives in Turkey.
Mr. Mitov is Director, Debt and Equity, at Capital Market’s Group of FINCA Impact Finance (FIF), where his responsibilities include raising and negotiating debt and equity funding, M&A transactions, reviewing and evaluating financial plans, assisting CEOs and CFOs in developing funding strategies for the subsidiaries, assisting in developing new financial structures and instruments, and preparing investment proposals. His focuses on FIF’s Eurasia and Middle East and South Asia subsidiaries.
Mr. Mitov has 15 years experience in microfinance and banking. Before joining FIF in 2012, he had worked in MicroVest Capital Management for 4 years as Investment Manager and Senior Investment Associate. Before MicroVest, Mr. Mitov had carried on different duties in Vitas Romania (formerly Express Finance SA), Global Communities (formerly CHF International) and others.
Radoil Mitov graduated from the American University (USA) majoring in Finance and International Economics. He also earned a MA in International Trade and Investment Policy and MBA in International Finance at the George Washington University, USA. He is fluent in English and Bulgarian.

FINCA Jordan CEO
Abduqodir Sattorov is currently CEO of FINCA Microfinance Jordan, having more than 15 years’ experience in microfinance.
Prior to joining FINCA Jordan, he spent more than two years as the CEO of Agora Microfinance Zambia. He has also worked for more than four years for FINCA International in different roles in Uganda, Zambia and Azerbaijan.
Abduqodir has also worked as an SME Advisor for an EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) funded project on SME Lending and MCFF Advisory Services with a Swiss-based consulting company BFC Consulting to develop small and medium-lending practices in five different commercial banks.
Prior to that, he worked for over four years in “LFS Financial System Gmbh”, a German consulting and management company specializing in micro and small business finance projects in developing and transition countries.
Abduqodir holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Audit from Tajik State University of Commerce.
Ahmad Abu Alhummos
CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER
Ahmad Abu Alhummos
Ahmad Abu Alhummos has been CFO of FINCA Microfinance Jordan since November 2017.
Ahmad has a solid accounting and finance background as he worked in public accounting for over 13 years. He was also engaged in the completion of major audits and consulting projects for major clients within different industries while working for Abu Ghazaleh audit company, which is well-known in the Middle East. Ahmad represented the company in its international affiliations and relations along with being a members of its strategy committee.
Earlier in his career, Ahmad served as Chief Operating Officer for different companies for more than six years. He managed the finance and accounting functions and assured the achievement of the corporate goals as a CFO.
CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER
Mehman Tatliyev, Chief Operations Officer, first joined FINCA Microfinance Jordan in February 2013.
He is a seasoned business development professional with over 20 years of sales and portfolio management experience including work experience in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Canada.
Mehman has built a successful career as a credit officer, small business advisor, team leader, branch manager and regional manager working for the world’s leading financial institutions such as FINCA Impact Finance, Wells Fargo, HSBC and TD Canada Trust. He joined FINCA Bank Georgia in February of 2011 as a regional manager and led the team of professionals to transform a stagnating region into a success story by substantially increasing the customer base and loan portfolio as well as developing and strengthening the human resources within the region.
Mehman holds a Canadian Investment Funds license from the Investment Funds Institute of Canada in Toronto as well as Mortgage Agent Licensing from the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, Toronto, ON. Mehman completed the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Philadelphia on June 2014.
He is fluent in Azeri, Turkish, English and Russian languages.
LEGAL DEPARTMENT MANAGER
Majdi Hammad is currently the Legal Department Manager & Secretary of Board of FINCA Jordan. He is in charge of leading the legal affairs at FINCA Jordan HO and Branches.
Majdi has more than 14 years of experience in legal and compliance in the financial sector in Jordan and Public share companies. Apart from being involved in daily and other complex legal tasks in different companies, Majdi has also been serving as Secretary of Board of Directors for a Jordanian Company – Sabaek Invest & its subsidiaries for more than seven years. He has bachelor degree in Law from Beirut Arab University and holds his membership in the Jordan Bar Association.
HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
Rula Shumali, the Human Resources and Training Manager of FINCA Jordan is directly responsible for managing the Human Resources and Training in the organization.
She started with FINCA Jordan since 2007 and is considered instrumental in starting up the Human Resources function in the company and has contributed to the overall establishment, development and ongoing improvement of the department.
As a valuable member of the senior management, her opinion, ideas, and contributions are important to the continued success of the organization. Rula has previous experience in Human Resources, Training, and Administration in the hospitality and production sectors. She has also worked as a Business Process Analyst in EDF Energy in UK.
Rula has a bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University of Jordan and an MBA from the University of Exeter-UK, specializing in Human Resources and Organizational Change. She is also a member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and a certified professional in Human Resources (PHR).
Develop a Portfolio of IT Services that support the goals of the organization, deliver value and achieve a positive ROI , Develop strategies and action plans to align technology to business processes of the Company. Analyze business requirements and translate into technology solutions. Develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures related to information technology based on FINCA’s Global IS policies. Measure, monitor and optimize IT Services and good performance of the area as a service provider. Develop, implement and maintain Information Security Plan and Business Continuity Plan.
Mustafa has bachelor and master degree in Computer Information System, specialization in Data Mining from Yarmouk University; has more than 12 years’ experience in Information technology,
Mustafa has many certificates as PMP , MCP ,MCTS ,In addition to many courses as CCNA , CCNP , CISA , Oracle data base administrator and developer ,MCSE , Performance Management training , Interviewing skills training, Conflict Awareness training and others .
Mustafa is member in project management institute and member on PMI Jordan chapter, also member in IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).
RISK AND INTERNAL CONTROL MANAGER
Mohammad has almost 10 years’ experience, as external Audit in private company has an experience in banking and microfinance sectors.
Mohammad Khlaif holds a bachelor’s degree from Al Al-Bayet University, for Finance and Banking Science.
Mohammad Khlaif started his work with FINCA Jordan an internal control officer on 2011 and he got several promotions until the position of Risk and internal control manager due to his achievement and commitments, Mohammad Khlaif is a Compliance and anti-money laundering Certified, In addition Internal audit, Operational Risk management, Risk management from USAID and many other courses.
Anas has more than 10 years of experience in the operational field through improving the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission — specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.
Anas is also managing to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of service departments (Marketing,Admin,HR, IT and Finance), through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.
Anas significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence by overall financial management, planning, systems and controls.
He started his work in FINCA Jordan as a loan officer and got many promotions until he reached the position of Operations Manager due to his excellent work and performance.
Khaled has more than eighteen years of experience in different positions related to banking system and commerce . He worked as the operations and center manager in VFSTasheel International . And he has bachelor degree in Commerce and Banking from Al Mansour University, Baghdad-Iraq 1997.
Ghada moved from the Corporate sector to the development sector to be part of the US 275$ million grant to Jordan Manager by the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA-Jordan), she managed several public outreach events, Press conferences and focal point for external partners and sponsors, stakeholder communication and relationship management.
Ghada’s greatest strengths are her creativity, drive and leadership. She thrives on challenges, particularly those that expand the company’s reach.
Ghada holds a bachelor’s degree from Jordan University for Science and Technology in Nutrition and Food Technology and continued her study to have a Certification from the American Institute as Certified Marketing Manager (CMM).

Lubna is a Certified Public Accountant (JCPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) , accomplished lot of advanced courses in Auditing , Accounting , Finance, Management .
